He was predeceased by: his parents, Freida Cathrine Nitzle and Albert Francis Helmick; his siblings, Beulah, Bob, Vivian, Irene, Rose and Gary; his grandson Shea Helmick; and his stepgrandson Michael Harrison.
He is survived by: his wife Kay Helmick; his siblings, Bernice, Cleo, Tim, Karen, Ed and Aaron; and his children, Sheree Coles (Ric) of Nampa, Neil Helmick (Sandy) of King Hill, Walter Helmick (Cozette) of Sweet and Shawna Kubitschek (Tim) of Boise. He is also survived by 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
A funeral service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Potter Funeral Chapel (228 E Main St, Emmett, ID 83617). A reception was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the House Style Reception (4131 W Central Rd, Emmett, ID 83617).
