He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Leischner and Clara Leischner (Clark); and his nephew James "Mac" Walter McDonald. He is survived by: his sister Patti McDonald (Mark); his niece Shannon McDonald; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jaide Moss-Hendricks (Josh), Sydney Eversole, Mathew Eversole, Jaden Hastings, Brooke Deakins (Mike), Jamie McDonald and Addison McDonald. He is also survived by numerous great-great nieces, nephews and cousins.
