He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence "Sandy" Powell and Grace Knight Powell; and his sisters, LaDonna, Doris and Lois.
He is survived by: his wife Julia of Rexburg; his daughters, Julie Hancock (Brett) of Rexburg, Jane Johnson (Joel) of Rigby and Tamra Steel (Shawn) of Stansbury Park, Utah; and his brother James Powell (Brenda). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
