He was predeceased by: his parents, Lennis Briggs and Glayds Briggs; his daughter Tracy; and his granddaughters, Kabree and Gracy.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Sommer; his children, Tamra Hanks (Jeffery) of Hinckley and Troy Briggs (Stella) of Rexburg; and his sister Marlynn of South Dakota. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren. 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
