He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Fred Shirley and Clara Shirley; his wife Doris Evelyn Carlstrom; his grandmother Jan; and his sons, Lex Shirley of Rexburg, Gil Shirley (Terri) of Rexburg and Tod Shirley (Dawn) of Sugar City. He was also cherished by 19 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
