He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Wesley Shippen and Ruth Mildred Tomblinson Shippen; and his siblings, Fahn Louise Shelton (late John), Wesley Ronald Shippen (Lorna), Dean Eldon Shippen (Susan) and Sandra Ruth Harris (Jim).

He is survived by: his wife Mary Sue Streeper; and his children, Shane Emmett Shippen (Nancy), Russell Charles, Trent Wesley Shippen (Jean), Troy Jay Shippen (Janet), Amy Sue Mortensen (Eric) and Ty Ben Shippen (Kaly).
