He is survived by: his siblings, Stanley (Peggy), George (Paula), Karla (Tim Hamby), Mark, Michael (Linda) and Jerry (Kim); his former wife Carla Koning; his children, Kent Ward, Jeff Ward (Joy), Shelley (Quinten Miller), Deon Nelson and Andrea (Edward Jeppson); his friend Leanne Talbot; and his stepchildren, Darrell Chesley (Diane), Lon Chesley (Deb), Jeff Chesley (Christy), Kurt Chesley (MaryAnn), Lisa Wuthrich (Deneen), Lori Olson (Bryce) and RosaLee Talbot. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren.
