She was predeceased by: her parents, Lorin Lyman Smith and Norma Virginia Tolman Smith; her husband George Glen Carter; her son Gary Neal Johnson; her stepmother Berniele Smith; and her brothers, Lyman, Lorin Nathan, Loren Earl and Jerry.
She is survived by: her siblings, Adell Grijalva, Nancy Barney, Terry Smith and Roger Smith. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
She made countless items that were donated to the Pink Ladies division of the hospital fundraising.
