He was predeceased by: his parents, Calvin Covert and Marintha Covert; and his brothers, Larry and Edwin. He is survived by: his wife Lynda Wilson of Preston; his son Ramey (Adrienne) of California; his grandsons, Michael (Georgia), Jadin, Ashton and Mason; his stepson Michael (Joe) of Illinois; and his siblings, Theo of Preston, Mark Grace and Marlane of Preston.
