He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Frank Thayne and Louise Hayward Bateman; his son Bart John Bateman; his wife Julie; his children, Chad (Christina), Tasma (Brandon) and Trent (Kelly); and his sisters, Margaret Vance, Ruth Bateman, Joyce Fenwick and Jean Bath. He was also cherished by his nine grandchildren.
