He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Lester and Ethel LaBelle Holbrook (Peggy); his wife Elaine; and his siblings-in-law, Katherine, Franklin, Curt and Nick.

He is survived by: his son Lee Holbrook (Charlene) of Coeur d'Alene; his grandsons, Zack and Jake; his children, Mike Holbrook (Kim) of Coeur d'Alene and Kim Young (Ron) of Post Falls; his grandchildren, Maurissa and Cory; his great grandchildren, Jon, Maicie and Addie; and his sisters-in-law, Janet Hill of Clovis, CA, Elizabeth and Alene. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Nolan enjoyed his involvement in organizations that were dear to his heart, serving as President of the OWLS (a retired law enforcement group) and on the Board for the Kootenai County Police and Fire Memorial Foundation.
