He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Asche and Susanna Van Asche (Kailing); his wife Maxine Christensen; and his siblings, Art Van Asche, Rose Grogan and Marjorie Williams.
He is survived by: his children, Diane Sauer (Rocky), Charlie Fike (Daniel), Tom Van Asche (Jan), DeeDee Betzner (John), Susan Cartularo and Laurence Van Asche (Tamara); his grandchildren, Jeremy, Corey, Mackenzie, Lane, Shelbie and Lauren; his great grandchildren, Austin and Bryton; his daughter Melissa Shipley; and his siblings, Chris Van Asche (Martha), Alice Stilwell (Don), Mike Van Asche, Pat Van Asche (Linda) and Dennis Van Asche (Jan). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
