He is survived by: his wife Nancy Meckert; his children, Tina Tibbetts, Heidi Davis (Brad) and Troy Meckert (Cherry); his grandchildren, Nicklaus Weathermon (Ashlie), Kyle Weathermon (Corinne), Mikayla Tibbetts, Brianna, Bradi Davis, Karder, Noah and Eli Meckert; his great grandchildren, Carter, Grayson, Isaac, Miles Weathermon and Oaklee Burda; and his siblings, Harald Meckert (Irmgard), Susi Flurschutz (Siegfried) and Moni Brendel.
