He was predeceased by: his parents, Blain M Nielsen and Ida E Nielsen; his siblings, Richard Nielsen and Coleen Boulter; and his brother-in-law Jerry Swensen.

He is survived by: his uncles, Howard, Lynn, Bee and Robert Manning; his close friend Dick Anderson; his sibling Falls Temple; his wife Evelina Nielsen; his children, Barbara Bean (Bruce), Ellen Mabey (Terry), Kim Prestridge (Mark), Lynn Nielsen (Diane) and Dean Nielsen (Jill); and his siblings, Marilyn Swensen, Margaret Duff (Jack) and Bob Nielsen. He is also survived by 16 grandkids.
