She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Bortz Sr. and Clara Bortz (Hess); her husband Bill Schmidt; her siblings, Nadine Bortz and Edward Bortz Jr.; her son-in-law Stanley Cole; her granddaughter Stephanie Eads; and her great grandchild Brogan Smith.
She is survived by: her siblings, Nadine Fay, Edward Jr. Nadine, Vergie Brannan of Lander and Ida Tedford of Del City, Oklahoma; her sister-in-law Violet Bortz; and her children, Tom Schmidt (Joan) of Jerome, Ken Schmidt (Tina) of Rupert and Carol Cole of Paul. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
