He was predeceased by: his parents, Ole Nelson and Odelia Nelson (Strand); his wife Melva; his son Jeff Nelson; his grandson David Shepherd; and his siblings, Don, Dorothy, DeWayne Nelson, Doris Hamilton and Deloris Dayton.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Scott (Ron), Colleen, Wade Shepherd of Newport, WA, John and Ruth Nelson of Priest River, ID. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren and 8 nieces and nephews.
