It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene Smith Thompson of Nampa, Idaho, who passed away on October 27, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Gene had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Gene may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Edmund and Luella Smith Thompson. He is survived by: his sons, Rodney (Gene) and Gordon; his wife Phillis; his siblings, Charlotte Jones and Jim Thompson; and his children, Philene Lewis (Jerry) and LaVar Thompson (Sharon). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Happy Valley Road LDS Church (88 S Happy Valley Rd, Nampa, ID 83687). A burial was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at the Kohlerlawn Cemetery (76 6th St N, Nampa, ID 83687).
