He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Sandquist and Anna Christina "Ruth" Frisk Sandquist; and his siblings, Clifford and Helen Williams. He is survived by: his children, Diane Sandquist Hammond (Duke) of Spokane and Kevin Sandquist (Moreesa) of Troy; his grandchildren, Alaina Hammond (Spokane), Eric Hammond (Shantel) of Post Falls, ID, Marcus Hammond (Spokane), Clint of Boise, ID, Mitchell (Troy) and Rhett Sandquist (Troy); his brother Robert Sandquist; and his siblings-in-law, Pat Garges (Fay), Judy Spencer and Bruce Asplund (Carol).

The family suggests that memorials be made to the Troy High School Athletic Department, or the Troy Fire Department Fund.
