He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Sr. Willett and Laura Willett (Sherman); his brother Tom; and his brother-in-law Jim Richeson (Pixie). He is survived by: his wife Merlyn; his children, Marge Beam (Brian) and Gary; his grandchildren, Faye Williams and Joe Manuele (Pauline); his great grandchildren, Johnathan, Mycah and Sara; his sister Laura Richeson (Pixie); and his sister-in-law Marie Willett (Tom). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; and cousins.
