He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Vola Theresa Miner Jones and Delbert Arthur Jones; his siblings, Arthur (Darlene), Eugene (Sandy), CJ (Bonnie), Gayle Murdock (Boyd) and Odetta Wilcox (Layne); his siblings-in-law, Darlene and Boyd; his wife Catherine Gray Jones; and his caregiver Kelli. He was also cherished by 25 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, and three great-great granddaughters.
