He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerome Laney and Evelyn Laney (La Barge); his son James H. Laney; his siblings, Jerome (Ursula), Gloria (Tony Travis) and Debbie Laney; and his brother-in-law Douglas Murphy.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra L. Kingsley; his children, Philip (Lisa Laney) of California and Christoper Laney (Melanie Hamon) of Idaho; and his siblings, Cynthia Murphy and Mark Laney of Florida. He is also survived by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
