She is survived by: her former husband Tommy Hanks; her granddaughters, Tammie Louise and Grace Elizabeth; her sister Janet Alice Sawatzky; her children, Jeffrey Howard (Alisa), Tammie Louise (David) and Darren Earl (Laura); her grandchildren, Gabriel Donald (Rachel), Avery Connor (Paris), Tanner Jeffrey, Colton Ruch (Kate) and Ian Donald; and her great grandchildren, Sunny and Charlotte.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that attendees bring a new children's or young adult book.
