He was predeceased by: his parents, John Archie Joyner and Pretty Lee Calhoun; his wife Janet Vilate Bloss; and his siblings, Eva Lucille (William Whitehead), Russel James John Archrie Jr. (Bernice Leetham), Louise Valentine (Thomas George Hurst), Ella LaVonia (Lester), Arvilee "Buck" (Mary) and LeRoy.
He is survived by: his sons, Todd (Misty), Scott (Camille) and Dean Joyner (Bobi); and his sister Alice Joyner Steiner. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He had a love of reading and enjoyed studying church doctrine until his Alzheimer's progressed.
