He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Robert and Audrey Robert; and his siblings, Arnold Robert, Adelle Wisdom and Arlene Pitt.

He is survived by: his wife Pat Robert; his children, Tricia Poole (Shayne) and Steven Robert (Lindsey); his siblings, Sheryl Ruud (Denny) and Armand Robert; his sister-in-law Ronda Laybourn (Hugh); his grandchildren, Madyson, Riley, Audrey, Quinton, Ty and Jayce; his great grandchildren, Camdyn and Kadyn; and his parents-in-law, Dean and Letha Dillon. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

“I was leaving Boise to drive to college when I stopped for gas and left my wallet on top of my car. It ended up in the middle of a busy street. Butch parked and, dodging traffic, gathered together all of my ID cards and papers. He sleuthed out my mother's address and returned the wallet. I've never forgotten his extraordinary act of kindness and I've taken that spirit into my life, helping out others where I can. To Butch's family - he was a great man. I'm sorry for your loss.
