She was predeceased by: her daughter Mary Elva Hammond; and her parents, Donald Staley and Shirley "Pat" Staley. She is survived by: her husband Mark Kevin Smith Sr.; her children, Kerri Jo Lovelass (Matthew), Sarah Ann Hayward (Travis) and Mark Kevin Jr. Thorne (Andrew); her grandchildren, Elizabeth Anne Allen, Vernon Dail Hammond Jr., Johnathan Thomas Hammond, Gabriel Michael Lovelass, Andrew James Butler, Jennifer Lynn Lovelass, Hallie Jo Lovelass, Ann Margaret Oviatt, Pacience Cathryn Oviatt, Roselynn Grace Oviatt and Allison Grace Thobis; and her great grandchildren, Emma Ann Allen and Nora Lynn Thobis.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to the Shriners Hospital in Shirley's memory.
