It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Jack Houston (Lewiston, Idaho), born in Midland, Texas, who passed away at the age of 70, on February 10, 2024. He was predeceased by: his parents, Beatrice Sallie Payne and Jack Fleming Austin; and his aunts, Ann Bennett (Jim) and Virginia Steely (Chuck). He is survived by: his wife Valdasue Steele; his children, David Bell (Lisa) of Olympia, Marian Bell of Wood Village, Ore and Patrick Bell of Seattle; his sisters, Sallianne Howell (John) of Vancouver, Deanna Bell (Calif) of Westlake Village and Carole Austin of Greenwood, S. C.; his uncles, Harold Payne (Louise) of Santa and Tommy Austin of Montgomery, Texas; and his cousins, Bernice Steely and Walter Steely. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and three grandchildren.

No services are planned but memorial donations can be made in Jack's honor to the Lewis Clark Animal Shelter/New Building Fund, 6 Shelter Road, Lewiston, ID 83501 or online at lcshelter.org.
