He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Elmer Sipe and Ione Westfall. He is survived by: his stepfather Lenard Joe Thompson; his significant other LaRae Blacker; his children, Tom (Carol), Liisa Craner (Kirk), Laura Niswander (Clinton), Terry (Monica), Troy (Christine), Lana Reed (Zach), Tyler (Camille) and Trent (Cassie); and his siblings, Doug Thompson, Donna Jenkins-Semmelroth (Al), Sharie Scott (Doug), John Thompson, Julie Peterson (Howard) and Bonnie Ferrin (Trent). He is also survived by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

“To LaRae and the family of my cousin Charles: I just learned of Charles' passing and wanted to extend to you all my sincere condolences. I remember fondly when Charles visited us in Virginia Beach, coming into town riding his motorcycle "Otto." We had a very pleasant visit, touring the sites at historic Jamestown and Williamsburg, Virginia. I wish I could have known him better, but the 2,000 miles between us made that difficult.
