He is survived by: his daughter Jill McDowell (Dave) of Coeur d'Alene; his daughter-in-law Jean Hoogland of Springfield, Virginia; his grandchildren, Steven Hoogland (Megan), Thomas McDowell Rebecca (Ashleigh), Kelly McDowell (Wendy), Megan McDowell and Matthew Hoogland (Mariah); and his sisters, Hilda Kaufmann and Margaret Howell.
