He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Harland Butler and Elma Lucy Hibler Butler; his close friend Doris "Jo" JaJuan Butler; and his siblings, Jack Butler, Joyce Miller, Byron Butler, Shirley Wadsworth and Sue Gibson.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Kory (John), Janet Vestal (Don), Debra Cook, William Butler and James Butler (Kristan); and his brother Paul Butler. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren.
