He was predeceased by: his wife Elva M. "Sis" Godwin; and his siblings, Lewis Godwin, Jack Godwin, Ruben Godwin, Jack Bowles, Carl Bowles, Clyde Bowles, Betty Burton, Elva McHone, Ella Tibbits, Ellen Bowles, Bea Tweedy and Marion Swaim.
He is survived by: his former wives, Elva M. "Sis" Sink and Sharon Goodman (Welborn); his children, Butch Godwin (Marsha), Donita Powers (David) and Ricky Godwin (Opal); and his grandchildren, Ryan Godwin, Justin Godwin, Michelle Wilson, Michael Powers, Dustin Powers, Bubba Powers and Evadie Powers. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
