He was predeceased by: his parents, João Machado Toledo and Entalvina Berbereira Toledo; his parents-in-law, Manuel Romeiro and Nair of Jesus Rocha; and his brother-in-law Adriel Romeiro.

He is survived by: his wife Maria Nilza Toledo; his son Johnny M. Toledo; his sister Elvira Maria Toledo; his sister-in-law Maria Guilhermina Barcelos; and his nephew Adriano Romeiro. He is also survived by his family, friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests Masses be offered for the repose of the soul of John.
