He was predeceased by: his parents, DeVon Powell and Evelyn Powell; his wife Pearl Victoria Thies; his sister Joyce; and his son Frank.
He is survived by: his children, William (Britt), Peter (Marchelle), Daniel (Julie), Lisa (Steve), John (Wendy) and Joseph. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
