He was predeceased by: his parents, Heber Lorenzo Welch and Sarah Welch; his son Korvan Blake; his siblings, Bobbie and Elzada; his former wife Verla; and his granddaughter Jamie Spaulding.

He is survived by: his family, Randy and Pamela Gene; his son Cary Brian (Lynette Walker); his wife Bonnie; and his children, Randy Welch (Jackie Briscoe) and Pamela Gene Spaulding. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and 36 great-grandchildren.
