He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Wessels and Magdalena Wessels (Nuxoll); and his siblings, Harold, Don, John, Rita Wassmuth (Clarence) and Marcella Uhlenkott, Sr. (Bob).
He is survived by: his wife Irene Stubbers; his children, Joe, Maria Wren (David), Tina Jackson (Chris) and Josef Wessels (Eugenia); his grandchildren, Nicholas, Natalie, Jacob, Emily, Matthew, Zachary, Mary, Michael, Katie Wren, Maddilynne, Jossilynne Jackson, Nate and Lena Wessels; his sister Dorothy Keuter (Don) of Tacoma Washington; and his sisters-in-law, Bernadine, Rita and Teddy. He is also survived by 39 nieces and nephews.
