He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl McDonald and Marguerite McDonald; his wife Beverly; and his siblings, Joe, John and Judy.
He is survived by: his son James Jr.; his granddaughters, Sara Tacke (Clark), Kate McDonald, Corbyn, Cael, Cieran and Carsten Tacke; and his sister Kathy Uhlorn (Dave) of Seattle.
