She was predeceased by: her husband John E. Gortsema of Grangeville; her former husband Ted Lester; and her son-in-law Stephen Hopkins. She is survived by: her children, J. Craig Lester of Pullman, Laurie Lester (Greg Banker) of Asotin and Wes Lester of Grangeville; her sister Janice Inghram (Roger) of Grangeville; her cousin Leland K. Jarvis (Linda) of Fullerton; her grandchildren, Jennifer Giovi, Brooke Lester and Julian Lester; her stepdaughter Ruth Gortsema Hopkins of North Carolina; her stepgrandchildren, Shannon Hopkins Thompson (Rick) and Matthew Hopkins; her sisters-in-law, Anna Marie Gortsema of Grangeville and Rozella DeHaas of Grangeville; and her niece Laurie. She is also survived by 2 great grandchildren.
