He was predeceased by: his parents, Angus Smith and Aline Smith of Grasmere, Idaho.; his grandmother Sarah Smith (Sadie); his sister-in-law Lesley Renner; and his stepdaughters, Cheryl and Connie.

He is survived by: his wife Carol Smith; his sister Donna Bennett (George) of Grandview; his stepson Farrol Renner; and his grandchildren, Katie, Eric, Robyn and Brandon. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, and a growing list of great-great grandchildren.
