He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Paul Johanek and Pearl Johanek (Ferrel); his wife Linda; his children, David Johanek (Jacque Vanderpool), Danny Johanek, Cathy Johanek and Barbara Webb (Trevor Webb); and his siblings, Chuck Johanek, Richard Johanek, Kathy Tate and Peggy Ziegler.
