He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elda Vandermate (Aman) and Henry "Vandy" Vandermate; his daughters, Jennifer Condel (Matthew), Kristen Feltis (Nicholas), Andrea Alsup (Rustin) and Megan Vandermate (Kenneth Kelley); and his siblings, Dennis Vandermate (Darcy), Terry Vandermate (Jacqué) and Valli Vandermate-Goodwin. He was also cherished by grandchildren.
