He was predeceased by: his parents, Timothy Wilford and Lillian Genevieve Ramsey Matthews; his son Mike; and his siblings, Frank, Bill, Samuel "Kelly" and Rachel "Bridget" Nelson.
He is survived by: his wife Mavis Ann Fries; and his children, Sharon Reed (Dennis) of Pocatello, Sandy Mallory (Gary) of Declo, Tim Matthews (Joy) of Jerome, Pam Young (Lamont) of Declo, Casey Matthews (Jodie) of Bonner and Laurie Webb (Todd) of Raft River. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; and 48 great-grandchildren.
Due to the ongoing risks of the COVID-19 virus, we suggest those attending to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
Farming and ranching continued to be the foundation of Mike's life.
