He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bortz and Leona Fries-Bortz; his siblings, Elmer Bortz of Klamath Falls, OR and Ellen Kelley; and his daughter Janine Marie Bortz.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Wickel-Bortz; his children, Holly Terpstra (Mike) and Dennis Bortz (Sara); and his grandchildren, Andrea Terpstra, Michelle Terpstra, Dana Reynolds and Henry Bortz.
