It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved DeLores Jean Smyer of Declo, Idaho, who passed away at the age of 87, on July 3, 2022. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Fredrick Otto Kowitz and Emma Gerlach Kowitz; her sister Juneal; her brother-in-law Walter Quast Jr.; her nephew Brian Michel; and her niece Teresa Bailey.

She is survived by: her husband Norman Smyer of Declo; her children, Gaylen Smyer (Carolyn) of Declo, Kevin Smyer (Arlene) of Albion, Debra Matsen (Rhett) of Declo and Lesa Fox (Jay) of Declo; and her siblings, Doreen Leonard of Filer, Chuck Kowitz (Arlene) of Declo, Jolene Johnstun (Joel) of Boise and Lynette Brackenbury (Craig) of Declo. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cassia County Education Foundation in memory of DeLores Smyer and designated for Declo Elementary.
