He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Sylte and Alice Sylte (Howell). He is survived by: his wife Jan Sylte (Krakenberg); his son Troy Sylte (Tamatha); his grandchildren, Reed Sylte, Tavin and Ella Robles; his daughter Traci Sylte; his grandchild Becca Sylte-Riggers; his sister Linda Yates (Gary Retter); and his nephew Eli Yates. He is also survived by numerous nephews and cousins.
Honoring Gary's love of nature, animals, and elk hunting, memorial contributions in Gary's name may be made to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (rmef.org), and/or Companions Animal Center, (PO Box 1005 Hayden, Idaho 83835).
