He is survived by: his wife Sarah Schnug Gates; his children, Benjamin Lee Gates, Kimberly Shannon Gates and Wendy Taylor Gates; his grandchildren, Penelope Gates, Scarlet Harris and Annika Travis; his brother Ken Gates; and his niece Shannon Gates.
