She was predeceased by: her parents, LaVern Mae Brown and Cecil Harold Smart; her husband Gary T. Garner; her son David S. Garner; her stepmother Venna Gray Davis; and her siblings, Keith Davis (Claudia) and Elaine Hofman (Cor).

She is survived by: her children, Lynn S. Garner (Shairstein), Daniel S. Garner (Sherrie Jo) and Janis Buttars (Ryan); her brother Wayne C. Smart (Carolyn); and her caregiver Julie. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
