He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Pettit and Naomi Pettit (Wolfe); and his mother-in-law Alice Otterbacher. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Casey Pettit and Alaina; his wife Dixie of Challis, Idaho; his children, Tina Smith of Challis, John Pettit (Jodie) of Carmen, Idaho, Mike Pettit of Challis Idaho and William Pettit (Bill) of Aliso Viejo; his grandchildren, Jamie and Jessica; his great grandchildren, Jordan, Nathan, Robert and Rowan; and his siblings, Sharon DeWitt of Greenwich, Richard (Nancy) of Greenwich and Donald (Theresa) of Syracuse.
