He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Dakan and Vera Dakan; his son John William; and his siblings-in-law, Donna Crans, Betty Dakan and Micheal Nishitani.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Bagley Ward; his siblings, Marilyn Nishitani and Jim Dakan; his daughter-in-law Debra Dakan; and his stepdaughters, Michiele Ward, Margaret Terrarosa and Melinda Thorp (Ted). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
The family suggests that donations be made to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital.
