He was predeceased by: his child Brenda Scott; his wife Roberta; his parents, Edward Carey and Opal Carey; and his sisters, Ruth Farris, Alice Honeycutt and Elizabeth Carey.
He is survived by: his children, Tammy, Elizabeth, Eddy Carey, Wesley Coffelt, Kenny Henderson, John Blackwell, Helen Blackwell-Lopez and Becky Blackwell-Striet; and his siblings, Carol Grubaugh (Chuck), Paulette Carroll, John Carey (Jeannie), Harry R. Carey, Jack Carey, Larry Carey and Roger Carey. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a special grandson.
