He is survived by: his wife Nancy Robey Alphenaar of Virginia; his children, Robert "Bob" Alphenaar (Cynthia) and Nancy Lynn Cooper (Brent); his grandchildren, Zachary Cooper-Gasca (Natalie), Christopher Cooper, Michael Cooper, Nicholas Cooper, Kathleen Alphenaar and Megan Alphenaar; and his sisters, Truus, Cobi and Ada.
