Letty Jo Ames Obituary
Letty passed away October 8th, 2021 at the age of 63, surrounded by family, after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Caldwell Idaho on July 3rd, 1958 and was raised in Nampa. She went to work for Carnation Potatoes in Nampa, where she met her husband Ralph.
They were married March 22nd, 1980 and together they raised 4 children. She had an amazing gift for painting ceramics. Her love of reading, especially Stephen King, led her to make many special friends.
They fondly refer to themselves as the “Twisted Sisters”. Together with her dear friend Kaff, she was able to travel and visit many of them. Letty grew up with and shared a special bond with her Uncle Rick Letty is survived by her husband Ralph, and their children, Angie (Matt) Taylor and her children Haylee, Cassie, and Caden; Misty Greathouse and her children Killian, Madisyn, Lucas, and Deyja; and Ryan Ames, 4 great grandchildren, her parents Bob and Linda Watkins, sisters and brothers Lorri (Scott) Krause, Will (Rasha) Marchant, Jim (Kathy) Watkins, Diana (Archie) Combs, Bob (Pam) Watkins, Nancy (Rene) Castro, sister-in-law Neva Scott and brother-in-law Gary Lies, numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.
Letty was preceded in death by her daughter Breeanna Ames, her beloved grandmother Viola Carver, her parents Mike and Barbara Marchant, mother and father-in-law Floyd and Verda Ames, brothers Mike and Mikey Marchant, sister Sherry Marchant, and sister-in-law Linda Lies. The family would like to extend a Heartfelt thanks to Keystone Hospice as well as St. Alphonsus Cancer Care for their care and compassion. A potluck is planned Oct. 23 @ 2:00 at the middle school 511 West Main Street Middleton Idaho.
